Singida Region is located in the heart of mainland Tanzania. Its capital is Singida and is an important crossroads for road transport to the North, West, South and East. Singida borders Manyara Region to the North, Dodoma Region to the East, Mbeya and Iringa Regions to the South and Tabora and Simiyu Regions to the West.
In Singida Region there is an official area which was identified by technical tests numbered 9305404.35, 698978.015 as being the center of mainland Tanzania i.e. Central point of Tanganyika, where it is located in the suburb of Darajani, Chisingisa Village located in Sasilo ward, Nkonk’o division Manyoni District.
Singida Region has 5 Districts which are Singida, Iramba, Manyoni, Mkalama and Ikungi; consisting of 7 Councils of Singida, Singida Municipality, Iramba, Manyoni, Mkalama, Ikungi and Itigi. In addition, the Region has 21 divisions, 136 counties, 442 villages, 2,309 suburbs and 8 constituencies. The size of Singida Region is 49,341 square kilometers equivalent to 6% of the Mainland area of which 11,340 square kilometers are suitable for agriculture equivalent to 23% of the total area of the Region.

Preparations for the 2022 Population and Housing Census
The implementation of the population and housing census takes place in three main phases which are Pre-Census Period, Census Period and Post-Census Period.
Pre-Census Period
The pre-census period includes the preparation of the Census Management and Implementation Strategy Manual and other documentation, Demarcation of Census and Map Production Areas, Material Preparation (Questionnaires and Guidelines); Awareness, Experimental Census by 29 August 2021 one year before the Census itself; Establish census committees; holding meetings with statistical stakeholders; making purchases, making choices about the type of technology to be used, hiring investigators and supervisors, distribution of equipment; and preparing for the Census Assessment.
Census Period
The census includes the main and important tasks in this census exercise.
Period After Counting People
Post-census period includes Processing Census Reporting, Analysis, Preliminary Results Delivery, Dissemination of Final Results, Promotion of Use of Statistics to Employees of Ministries, Departments and Government Institutions.
