Introduction
Gauteng College Of Nursing obtained full accreditation for the program Diploma in Nursing (R.171) from the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and South African Nursing Council (SANC) in November 2019 and the programme was registered by South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) on the 14 December 2019, giving the college legitimacy to implement the programme.
Gauteng Public Nursing Colleges began preparations for programme and institutional accreditation towards the latter half of the 2018 academic year. During that time nursing education was continuing to offer in multiple ways and at various educational levels for a similar programme and this became not possible as the nursing colleges are required by legislation to offer programmes of higher education. In view of the above, nursing services made a proposal for a single Gauteng College of Nursing and was approved by HOD.

Gauteng Nursing college online application 2024 Closing Date
The Gauteng Nursing Intake 2025 closing date is 14 August 2024. Applicants are to make sure they submit their application for study admission before the application closing date.

- You are required to register a profile on the system before you can apply.
- Must be a South African citizen, who resides in the Gauteng Province.
- Added advantage will be given to those who studied in Quintile 1,2,3 schools in townships, informal settlement and hostel communities in Gauteng Province.
- You must be in possession of one of the following school leaving certificates – a Senior Certificate, a National Senior Certificate, currently in Grade 12 or National Vocational Certificate Primary Health
- Applications must be done on the GPG Professional Job Center system before or on the 29 September; NO late applications will be accepted
- Certified documents will be uploaded on the system, however you will be required to take supporting documents to the selection center should you be shortlisted.

- National Vocational Certificate: 50% in Fundamental Subjects (English First Additional Language, Maths/Maths Literacy, Life Orientation) and 60% in the Vocational Subjects (SA Health Care System, Public Health, The Human Body and Mind and Community Oriented Primary Care)
- Current Grade 12 learners must meet the National Senior Certificate requirements in their Grade 11 final results.
