SBL flagship brand is Serengeti Premium Lager. Other brand portfolios include Guinness and Plisner. Headquartered in Dar es Salaam, SBL is also the distributor of several global Diageo international renowned spirit brands such as Johnnie Walker®, Smirnoff Vodka®, Bailey’s Irish Cream ®, Richot®, Bond 7 Whiskey® and Gilbeys Gin®.
Purpose of the role
The Brand Ambassador will work primarily in the high-end segments of the on-trade Channel (4 & 5 stars). They will work closely with the On Trade channel’s Marketing and Sales teams to achieve targets.
The role regularly engages with groups of HNW individuals delivering world class brand immersion experiences to them.
Key Accountabilities
- Customer Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with customers and consumers through regular engagement with a clear agenda that derives a desires outcome i.e enhance brand awareness, build brand equity and increase sales and profitability.
- Sales: Achieve targeted profits, volume targets and customer service levels as outlined in the business plans by developing & implementing sales strategies for each individual accounts in liaison with the Commercial Managers.
- Identify and research new customers with the Commercial or key account managers and agree on the plan to maximise Reserve brand sales in these accounts.
- Building Brand Capability: Provide specialist knowledge to customers through regular trainings on Premium Spirits.
- Brand Building Activity: Assess the market to identify action opportunities to present our Premium Spirits portfolio to maximise brand strength and sales volume. This will be carried out alongside implementing the customer marketing plans for these brands.
- Tactical Activities Collect information for category/ brand performance in the Accounts, analyse brand movements, and complete sales analysis for the brands.
Qualifications, Required Experience & Skills, and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Certifications.
Required Experience
- 2- 5 years of experience in direct Sales or F&B Sales, preferably in high-end hotels or luxury boutiques.
- Ability to be the spokesperson for the luxury brands: should be able to “reflect the luxury.
Skills and Competencies
- A passion for luxury and Reserve with an understanding of competitors, distributors, and key customers: their businesses and particularly their shoppers/consumers in the Reserve universe
- Exceptional relationship skills: proven ability to network and influence across functions and levels.
- Knowledge and ability to coach others in both the Diageo Way of Selling (DWS) and Diageo Way of Brand Building (DWBB) capabilities and tools.
- Excellent public speaking skills and reach out to a range of audiences through presentations and written communication.
