The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the provision of education in the country by preparing various policies, laws and guidelines from the Primary Education to Higher Education levels. In addition, the Ministry is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the development of Science, Technology and Innovation; as well as its use in various fields including Business, Industry, Agriculture and daily life in general.

According to the Authorization Document issued on 22 April 2016, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology carries out the following responsibilities:

  •  Formulating and implementing policies on Education, Science, Research, Library Services, Science, Technology, Innovation and the Development of Vocational Training;
  • Developing Basic Education by providing Teacher Training Accreditation and Professional Development of Teachers;
  • Identifying Talents and Developing Them;
  • Managing the Development of Training in Citizen Development Colleges;
  • Managing the National Award System;
  • Identifying the Country’s Needs in Skills and Developing It;
  • Setting Standards for the Teaching Profession;
  • Managing School Accreditation and Supervision;
  • Managing Educational Publication Services;
  • Supporting/Enhancing the Use of Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics;
  • Developing Local Experts in Science, Technology and Innovation:
  • Research in Science and Technology;
  • Human Resource Development and Increasing the Productivity of Employees under the Ministry; and
  • Coordinating the Activities of Departments, Organizations, Agencies, Programs and Projects under the Ministry.

QUESTIONNAIRE ON SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS REGARDING CITIZEN AND NON-CITIZEN TEACHING VOLUNTEERS IN TANZANIA

In response to new policy directives aimed at formalising teaching volunteerism, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology is developing a framework to guide this important initiative. As part of this effort, the Ministry is conducting a situation analysis to assess the current status of citizen and non-citizen teaching volunteers in Tanzania.

You are kindly requested to complete this questionnaire by providing essential information that will inform this analysis. Your responses are confidential and will be used solely for this purpose. Each question marked with an asterisk (*) is required to be completed before you proceed to the next section. If the response option “Others” does not apply, simply write “Not applicable.” We kindly ask you to complete and submit the questionnaire by the deadline: November 5, 2024, by the end of the day.
