SJUT is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following job positions:
1. Laboratory Technician – Biology (1 Position)
📍 Duty Station: SJUT Chief Mazengo Campus, Dodoma
📍 Reports to: Dean, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences (FaNAS)
Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician (Biology) will assist in supervising and administering practical laboratory sessions for biology students. The role also involves repairing and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Qualifications:
✔️ Ordinary Diploma in Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Sciences
✔️ Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 5-point scale
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Supporting student practicals, projects, research, and consultancy work
✅ Assisting in repair and maintenance of laboratory equipment
✅ Providing technical support to senior laboratory staff
✅ Performing any other duties assigned by the Faculty
📌 Salary & Contract:
•Salary according to the SJUT Scheme of Service
•Fixed-term contract of 4 years, renewable based on performance
2. Office Management Secretary (1 Position)
📍 Duty Station: SJUT Chief Mazengo Campus, Dodoma
📍 Reports to: Director of Human Resource Management and Administration (DHRMA)
Job Summary:
The Office Management Secretary (OMS) will assist in office administration and secretarial duties, supporting the executive offices of the university.
Qualifications:
✔️ Ordinary Diploma in Secretarial Studies OR
✔️ Secretarial Examinations Stage II (including:
•Shorthand: 80 words per minute (English & Kiswahili)
•Typing: 100/120 words per minute
•Advanced Computer Course from a recognized institution
✔️ Experience working in a high-profile office will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Typing and preparing official documents (correspondence, reports, minutes)
✅ Filing and document management
✅ Receiving visitors & handling phone calls
✅ Scheduling meetings and appointments for senior executives
✅ Handling confidential office matters
✅ Coordinating travel and hotel bookings for senior executives
📌 Salary & Contract:
•Salary according to the SJUT Scheme of Service
•Fixed-term contract of 4 years, renewable based on performance
