As part of our mission to strengthen governance, technology risk management, and process assurance, we are seeking a dynamic professional to join our Internal Audit Department as Assistant Manager – Internal Audit, Information Systems Audit.
This role is ideal for an experienced IT auditor passionate about ensuring secure, efficient, and compliant technology operations within the banking sector.
Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager – Internal Audit, Information Systems Audit will lead and coordinate IT audit engagements to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the Bank’s technology controls, risk management practices, and governance frameworks.
This position involves planning, supervising, and reviewing audits covering IT systems, cybersecurity, applications, infrastructure, data analytics, and third-party environments. The incumbent will also play a critical role in driving automation, continuous auditing, and data-driven risk analysis to enhance audit efficiency and business assurance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. IT Risk Assessment & Planning

Conduct IT risk assessments to identify key risks and develop detailed audit programs aligned with the annual risk-based audit plan.

Define audit objectives and scopes that reflect business priorities and regulatory expectations.
2. IT Audit Execution & Supervision

Lead and supervise audit teams in performing IT audits across systems, databases, networks, cloud platforms, and business applications.

Assess the design and operating effectiveness of IT controls and ensure compliance with COBIT, ISO 27001, and NIST frameworks.

Evaluate IT governance, cybersecurity, and data protection frameworks for adequacy and effectiveness.
3. Cybersecurity & Technology Risk Reviews

Conduct reviews of cybersecurity controls, vulnerability management, and incident response mechanisms.

Assess IT operations, system change management, disaster recovery, and vendor risk management.

Ensure the Bank’s information systems are resilient, secure, and compliant with local and international standards.
4. Data Analytics & Automation

Apply data analytics and automated audit tools (e.g., ACL, IDEA, SQL, Power BI) to detect anomalies, identify control weaknesses, and promote continuous auditing.

Support the automation of audit processes to increase accuracy and timeliness of risk insights.
5. Audit Reporting & Follow-up

Review audit workpapers and test results for completeness and accuracy.

Prepare clear and actionable audit reports summarizing findings, risk implications, and recommendations.

Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and management action plans.
6. Capacity Building & Stakeholder Engagement

Provide coaching and technical guidance to audit staff to enhance IT audit and analytics competencies.

Collaborate with IT, Risk, and Compliance teams to strengthen the Bank’s control environment.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies, cyber threats, and audit practices to ensure continuous improvement.
7. Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure that all IT audit engagements adhere to the Internal Audit Charter, International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), and ISACA standards.

Participate in special audits, forensic reviews, and ICT project assessments as required by management.
🎓 Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline from a recognized university.

Professional certification such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, or CIA is required.

Additional certifications such as CEH, CISSP, or data analytics qualifications will be an added advantage.
Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes
Technical & Analytical Skills

Strong understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity, IT risk management, and control frameworks (COBIT, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NIST).

Proficiency in audit tools such as ACL, IDEA, Power BI, and Teammate.

In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, databases, cloud services, and networking.

Experience with data analytics, continuous auditing, and automation tools.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in IT audit, cybersecurity, or technology risk management within the banking or financial services sector.

Demonstrated experience in supervising or leading IT audit teams.

Hands-on exposure to data analytics, automation, or cyber risk assessment is a strong advantage.
