Job Function

As Inventory and Fixed Asset accountant you are expected to ensure the accuracy of inventory numbers and identify discrepancies in a timely manner. Also, he/she is expected to safeguard company’s asset against loss and misappropriation by implementing effective internal controls on those assets

Key Performance Areas:

  • Planning and carrying out of annual stock taking and preparation of report and follow up of outstanding issues.
  • Monitor inventory and prepare inventory aging reports
  • Reconciling inventory G/Ls
  • Perform reconciliation between Store and financial accounting system
  • Reviews accuracy of inventory movement and cost adjustments
  • Prepare inventory reports for management, including inventory valuation
  • Collaborate with other sections/departments, including procurement, store to ensure accurate inventory forecasting and planning.
  • Updating Authorization for Expenditure (i.e., AFE) forms for FM and CFO review before submitting for approval.
  • Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets.
  • Effectively track fixed assets by allocating tag numbers
  • Work closely with Project Managers/ Technical department to track Construction in Progress (CIP) project progress and capitalize at the completion of the project
  • Ensure compliance with internal fixed asset policies and GAAP regulations
  • Perform reconciliation of fixed asset subsidiary ledger balance with the general ledger account
  • Run monthly depreciation for all fixed assets.
  • Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
  • Conduct annual physical fixed asset count
  • Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.
  • Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
  • Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.
  • Drive process improvements and automation to improve efficiencies within the company

Qualifications Required:

  • BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA/CPA preferred.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Inventory & Fixed Asset accountant or similar role.
  • Possess strong proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Oracle)
  • Strong knowledge and experience of fixed assets and General Ledger
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the existing team
  • Abilities to work under pressure and minimum supervision
