About the Role:
As a Declaration Officer, you will be instrumental in ensuring smooth customs clearance for our import and export operations. You’ll work closely with clients and customs officials to navigate the complexities of customs regulations and provide excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit customs declarations for all shipments in compliance with Tanzanian regulations.
- Manage documentation, ensuring all shipping documents are accurate and complete.
- Monitor compliance with customs laws and stay updated on relevant regulations.
- Communicate with clients regarding customs inquiries and updates on their shipments.
- Resolve issues related to customs clearance and collaborate with customs officials to expedite processes.
- Generate reports for management on customs activities and compliance matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in customs declaration or a similar role. • Strong knowledge of Tanzanian customs regulations and procedures. • Proficient in TANCIS, TeSWS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and communication abilities. • Excellent Written and Spoken English and Swahili
Preferred Skills:
- Certification from a recognized customs authority.
- Experience in international shipping and trade compliance.
