Program Field Coordinator – Child Health and Nutrition

Nutrition International (NI) is seeking a dedicated Program Field Coordinator – Child Health and Nutrition to join their team in Mwanza, Tanzania. This full-time position focuses on managing and coordinating Vitamin A supplementation activities to improve child health outcomes in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

•Develop and oversee annual and quarterly work plans and budgets with implementing partners to ensure effective program delivery.

•Support the creation and execution of regional and council plans for routine Vitamin A supplementation, aligning with national guidelines.

•Advocate for the integration of Vitamin A supplementation into routine health services and broader health and nutrition plans.

•Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of planned program activities.

•Monitor the implementation of work plan activities, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and timelines.

•Ensure routine Vitamin A supplementation is incorporated into primary healthcare services, including immunization sessions and maternal and child health programs.

•Review and analyze technical reports from implementing partners, taking necessary actions to keep program milestones on track.

•Organize regular coordination meetings with stakeholders to ensure quality and cost-effective implementation.

•Raise community awareness about Vitamin A deficiency and the benefits of supplementation.

•Collect and analyze program data to assess performance, compliance, reach, and impact based on key performance indicators.

•Prepare periodic reports on program status, challenges, and successes for internal stakeholders and donors.

Qualifications and Experience:

•Master’s degree in nutrition, nursing, health sciences, public health, or a related field from a recognized university.

•3-5 years of experience in nutrition or public health programs, preferably focusing on Vitamin A or micronutrient supplementation.

•Training in health commodities management and research methodologies is an added advantage.

•Excellent report writing and project management skills.

•Proficiency in data management.

•Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.

•Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
