The ECSA Health Community (ECSA – HC) is pleased to announce internship and volunteer opportunities at its Secretariat in Arusha, Tanzania. These opportunities are open to students, recent graduates, and experienced professionals from ECSA-HC member states who wish to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in public health and development.
Thematic Areas:
We are currently offering 4 internship and 10 volunteer positions across the following focus areas:
1. Health Systems Strengthening and Capacity Development
2. Research and Innovation
3. Communication and Advocacy
4. Primary Health Care and Community Medicine
5. Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and Disability Inclusion
6. Nutrition and Food Systems
7. Human Resource Management (HRM)
8. Health and Climate Change
9. Mental Health and Wellbeing
10. Youth SRHR and Mental Health Advocacy
Who Can Apply?
Internship Applicants:
> Must be in the final year of a graduate programme or recently graduated.
> Must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Medicine, Social Sciences).
> Must submit proof of enrollment or recent graduation.
Volunteer Applicants:
> Must hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a relevant field.
> Must have 2 to 10 years of directly relevant work experience.
> Must demonstrate a track record in implementing health or development programmes.
> There is no age limit for applicants.

Important Notes
> The programme is unpaid, applicants must cater for their own travel, accommodation, visa, and other expenses.
> Close relatives of current ECSA-HC officials and past interns/volunteers are not eligible.
