SENIOR MARINE ENGINEER II – 3 POSTS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To monitor running, operation and maintenance of propulsion and electrical systems aboard the vessel;
- To inspect and maintain all equipment and reports malfunctions and make adjustments or repairs;
- To recommend necessary repairs and adjustments;
- To monitor fuel and lubricants consumption; and
- To advise on applicable marine engineering rules and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Certificate of Competence for Second Engineer Officer (SEO) on Ships of up to 3000 kW Propulsion Power (Reg. III/2) with working experience of at least seven (7) years on board ship as OIEW of more than 750 kW Propulsion Power; Or
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent qualifications from recognized institution Plus Certificate of Competence for Second Engineer Officer (SEO) on Ships of up to 3000 kW Propulsion Power (Reg. III/2) with working experience of at least seven (7).
SALARY SCALE: MSCS 7
MARINE ENGINEER I – 4 POSTS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To participate and advice in running, operation and maintenance of propulsion and electrical systems aboard the vessel;
- To inspect and maintain all equipment and reports malfunctions and make adjustments or repairs;
- To record and report on fuel consumption and lubricants
- To advise on applicable marine engineering rules and regulations
- To maintain log book;
- To participate and report on any emergence scene; and
- To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the superior.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Certificate of Competence for Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OIEW) on Ships of 750 kW Propulsion Power or more (Reg. III/1) with working experience of at least four (4) years on board ship as OIEW of more than 750 kW Propulsion Power; Or
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent qualifications from recognized institution Plus Certificate of Competence for Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OIEW) on Ships of 750 kW Propulsion Power or more (Reg. III/1) with working experience of at least four (4) years on board ship as OIEW of more than 750 kW Propulsion Power.

DECK OFFICER I – 5 POSTS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To assist on matters pertaining to the safe operation of the vessel;
- T o monitor bridge operation;
- To assist in preparing watch assignments;
- To participate in fire and boat drills;
- T o participate in any emergency scene;
- To carry on navigational passage planning of the vessel;
- To command vessels of GRT up to 500; and
- To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the superior.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Certificate of Competence for Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (OINW) on ships of 500 GRT or more (Reg. II/1). Must have at least seven (5) years of working experience as OINW on ships of 500 GRT or more.
- Bachelor Degree in Marine Transportation, Maritime Transport and Nautical Science will be an added advantage or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions.

PRINCIPAL CAPTAIN – 1 POST
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To perform Commander of the vessel of less any vessel (Master Mariner);
- T o be representative of the owner;
- To navigate the vessel using a range of satellite, radar systems and other related equipment;
- To check weather and navigation reports and recommend for appropriate actions;
- To prepare and submit timely voyage reports room and furniture;
- To maintain discipline onboard and secures the rooms;
- To train crew in normal and emergency operations;
- To prepare and submit timely reports of vessel accident and damage;
- To ensure crew and officers are able to carry out all procedures, systems, testing,
- trainings, induction, familiarization, orientation and drills as required;
- T o manage ship communication systems;
- To maintain vessel operational records;
- To keep up to date with developments in maritime legal, commercial and political
- matters;
- To direct ship personnel on matters pertaining to the safe operation of the vessel;
- To oversee all work in deck department;
- To supervise loading and offloading operations under orders of his supervisor;
- To stand as a watch officer in charge on bridge during normal operations;
- T o create and post watch assignments;
- To conduct fire and boat drills;
- To take charge at scene in emergencies; and

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Certificate of Competence for Master on ships of 3000 GRT or more (Reg. II/2). Must have at least fourteen (14) years of working experience as OINW on ships of 500 GRT or more.
- Master Degree in Marine Transportation, Maritime Transport and Nautical Science will be an added advantage or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions.

- To be Commander of the vessel up to 3000 GRT;
- To be representative of the owner of the vessel;
- To prepare and submit timely voyage reports;
- To navigate the vessel using a range of satellite, radar systems and other relevant
- equipment;
- To check weather and navigation reports and recommend for appropriate actions;
- To ensure crew and officers are able to carry out all procedures, systems, testing, trainings, induction, familiarization, orientation and drills as required;
- T o maintain discipline onboard;
- To supervise all personnel in the vessel;
- To inspect the entire vessel at least once during each shift or designates the first officer to do so;
- To train crew in normal and emergency operations;
- To prepare and submit timely reports of vessel accident and damage;
- T o manage ship communication systems;
- To maintain vessel operational records;
- To keep up to date with developments in maritime legal, commercial and political
- matters;
- To be responsible for the amount of luggage and number of passengers together
- with the revenue accruing from them; and
- To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the superior
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Certificate of Competence for Chief Mate on ships up to 3000 GRT (Reg. II/2.3). Must have at least eight (8) years of working experience as OINW on ships of 500 GRT or more.
- Bachelor Degree in Marine Transportation, Maritime Transport and Nautical Science will be an added advantage or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions.

SENIOR SAILOR – 8 POST
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To steer ship under direction of ship commander or navigating officer;
- To be standby when ship is on automatic pilot and verifying accuracy of course by
- comparing with magnetic compass;
- To prepare and test wheel house equipment prior to operations/ departures;
- To relay on specified signals to ships in vicinity, using visual signaling devices;
- T o perform laundry duties; and
- To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the superior.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) or Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSEE) with Basic Mandatory Certificates as per STCW95 and Rating Forming Part of Navigation Watch (RFPNW).
- The candidate must have a Sea Service of not less than Eight (8) years.
