University of Dar es Salaam College  of Engineering (CoET)

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering: The College  of Engineering  and Technology  (CoET)  originated  from the then Faculty  of Engineering  (FoE), which was established  at the University  of Dar es Salaam  (UDSM)  in 1973 with the support  of the Government  of the Federal  Republic  of German  through  the then technical  cooperation  agency Deutsche  Gesellschaft  fuer Technische  Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) following a cooperation  agreement between the governments  of the United Republic of Tanzania  and Federal  Republic  of Germany  in 1971.

FoE was established  to fulfill the following three objectives:  (i) to provide education and advanced training for engineers; (2) to perform research  in the interest of exploitation  of natural resources;  and (iii) to provide expert professional  services  to industry,  government,  private organizations  and the general public.

Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering: The department of Engineering in Electrical Engineering offers NTA Ordinary Diploma (level 4-6) in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Equipment Engineering, and Renewable Energy Technology. It also offers (NTA level 7-8) Bachelor of Engineering program. The department has adequate resources which include laboratory and teaching facilities, nineteen (19) qualified teaching staff members with various qualifications and two (2) competent and experienced technicians.

Mbeya Institute of Science and Technology

Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering: The Electrical and Power Engineering Department is one of the academic departments in the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) at Mbeya University of Science and Technology.

The Department has a total of twenty four (24) academic staff of which five (05) are pursuing further studies. Currently, the Department offers two academic programmes which are Ordinary Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

The Ordinary Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is a three (03) years Programme while for Bachelor Degree Programme is a three (03) years Programme for applicants with Ordinary Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering field and four (04) years for applicants with form six qualifications.

The Department also conduct various short courses on the fields of Electrical and Electronics as it is normally advertised through MUST website. The academic staff from Electrical and Power Engineering Department apart from teaching, they also participate on various research and consultancy activities including through MUST Consultancy Bureau (MCB).
