Yanga vs Mamelodi: Young Africans coach Miguel Gamondi says Khalid Aucho, Pacome Zouzoua, Yao Kouassi and Kibwana Shomari will miss their CAF Champions League match against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
The two sides meet in the first leg match at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam tomorrow ahead of their reverse meeting at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on April 5th. “I do not want to take risk of featuring them while they are injured because we have a second match coming,” Gamondi says at a pre-match briefing in the city on Friday.
He also revealed that the team’s first choice goalkeeper Djigui Diarra and Stephanie Aziz Ki have arrived back in the country today morning hence he is yet to assess their fitness levels. On his part, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rhulani Mokwena says they will rely on their experience to record convincing result over Yanga.
“We are aware how good they are, we watched all their group stage matches and they are a dynamic team, they usually approach each match differently,” Mokwena says. The South Africa based club are searching their second Champions League silverware after clinching it in 2016.
