Company Overview:
The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is an executive agency under the Ministry of Works, Transport, and Communications, responsible for the development and maintenance of Tanzania’s trunk and regional road networks, as well as conducting axle load control operations using weighbridge scales.
Project Overview:
TANROADS Coast is implementing two projects:
•Upgrading of Utete – Nyamwage (33.7 km) to Bitumen Standard
•Construction of Mramre Bridge (81 m) and its Approach Roads (3.0 km) to Bitumen Standard
Position Summary:
The Highway Engineer will oversee the supervision of construction works for the above projects, ensuring adherence to contract specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with contract terms and quality standards.
•Monitor project progress and address any issues that may arise during construction.
•Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and TANROADS management to ensure project success.
•Prepare regular reports on project status, challenges, and recommendations.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Highway Engineering.
•Registered Professional Engineer with relevant regulatory bodies.
•At least seven (7) years of experience in road design and construction, including involvement in two (2) projects of similar magnitude within the last seven years.
•Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa.
•Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
