🛠️ Key Responsibilities
As a Material Engineer, you will:

Evaluate and recommend suitable construction materials based on design, environmental conditions, and cost-efficiency.

Review and approve materials proposed by suppliers and contractors.

Supervise material testing both in laboratories and on-site (e.g., soil, concrete, steel, bitumen, asphalt).

Conduct inspections to ensure proper storage, handling, and material usage.

Analyze and prepare technical reports, including test results and compliance summaries.

Innovate by evaluating alternative materials that improve efficiency or reduce environmental impact.

Prepare detailed documentation, including logs, reports, and drawings.
💡 Key Skills Required

Strong knowledge of construction materials (soil, aggregates, steel, concrete, bitumen).

Familiarity with material testing standards, especially BS and ISO.

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in lab equipment use and result interpretation.

Report writing and documentation skills.

Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
🎓 Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction, Materials Engineering, or related field.

At least 3 years of relevant experience in material testing, assurance, and control.

8+ years of professional experience is an added advantage.
-
Registration with ERB as a Professional Engineer (or in the process of registration).
-
Experience in infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, buildings, dams) is a plus.
