Job Vacancies at Tanzania Food and Nutrition Center. In Tanzania nutrition activities were initiated by the Ministry of Health in the 1950s based on reports showing an increase in the number of deaths, an increase in various diseases, the occurrence of hunger and the presence of other stimulants that contributed to sustainable growth. Great efforts were made in combating every condition such as the deterioration of the general health condition in a particular group of people.
In addition, a cross-sectoral co-operation system was implemented and led to the development of the formation of a cross-sectoral Advisory Committee whose main objective was to provide advice on various nutrition issues.
After independence, a major political contribution to nutrition, was instrumental in developing nutritional activities in the country. In 1963, Hon. President Julius K. Nyerere announced the Government’s role in fighting malnutrition. This led to in 1966, the establishment of the first school to teach nutrition, this school aimed to build the capacity of nurses, agricultural welfare officers, social welfare officers and teachers.
The Arusha Declaration adopted in 1967 came to emphasize the struggle against sustainability for special groups at all levels. Thus these efforts led to various departments performing nutritional activities, and a sign of responsible interaction began to appear.
