The list of first round selected candidates to join various Bachelor degree programmes is available on this admission page. Selected candidates with multiple admissions should login into their admission accounts and request for confirmation codes. Once you get your confirmation Code, you will use the same to confirm your admission at Mzumbe University.

Notice to all Unselected applicants 2024

All unselected candidates in the first round are invited to re-apply for the second round of application which starts on 3 rd September, 2024 and ends on 21 st September, 2024.

Reapplication can be made with no additional costs using your previously created admission account where you will get a link to do so. There are still slots available for every programme.

It is recommended that you apply to the programme where your academic performance will allow you to compete fairly. Please use one of the mobile numbers provided on the website to get help if you can’t remember your login or password.

TCU Application window opens for the 2024/25 Admission Cycle, The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) through its mandate as spelled out in the Universities Act, Cap. 346 of the Laws of Tanzania coordinates admissions of Bachelor students in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country. To facilitate the process, TCU prepares
the Admission Guidebooks annually to guide the prospective applicants on admission procedures, available programs and institutions approved to admit students in a particular academic year.

This Guidebook is meant to provide the applicants with basic information related to the programs approved by TCU or NACTVET to admit students in the 2024/2025 admission cycle, their institutions, locations, programs entry requirements, capacities, and durations. This Guidebook also provides fresh insight to those already associated with higher education within and outside Tanzania.

As a matter of procedure, applications for admissions are submitted directly to respective institutions through online admission systems obtained from institutions’ websites. Applicants are strongly advised to carefully read and understand procedures and entry requirements before lodging them applications. The selection process is based on the minimum program entry qualifications and other requirements of each institution including competitions and admission capacity.

The decision on admission of applicants are made by the individual institutions through their Senates o
Governing Boards. For further inquiries, prospective applicants and the general public are advised to contact the respective institution through the contact addresses provided in their websites.

TCU Guide book 2024/2025 for Diploma Qualifications, The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) has prepared this Bachelor’s degree Admission Guidebook to guide prospective applicants/students, parents/guardians, sponsors and other stakeholders on the procedures and criteria for students’ admission to HEIs in Tanzania. The Guidebook is further intended to provide information about institutions which offer Bachelor’s degree programmes, accredited programmes in the respective admission cycle, minimum entry requirements, programme admission capacities and duration of each programme.

Applications for admission into Bachelor’s degrees in HEIs are directly submitted through the online admissions system of the respective HEI. The process is interactive in such a way that the applicant can easily and conveniently follow the instructions given by the system in the course of applying.

In addition, the Guidebook has the following information:

• Applications and admission procedure;
• Admission eligibility requirements;
• Admission entry schemes and pathways;
• Approved institutions and programmes;
• Minimum entry requirements for each programme;
• Important dates to be followed during the application process; and
• Quality assurance fee.

Applications and Admission Procedure

• Applications are conducted online through the respective institution’s Online Admission Systems/Portals accessible on their websites; Bachelors’ Degrees Admission Guidebook for the 2024/2025 Academic Year (For Holders of Ordinary Diploma or Equivalent Qualifications)
• Applicants should ensure that they have adequate information for the programmes of their choice by considering available capacities, one’s passes, competitions, and career aspirations.;
• Applicants should ensure that their names and index numbers used in the applications match with those used during their secondary schools or college examinations;
• Applicants should carefully read and understand the guidelines and admission requirements of programmes anticipated to apply for, provided in this Guidebook and on the websites of the individual institutions, and ensure that they are conversant with the application process;
• Applicants holding foreign qualifications must have their certificates validated and equated/recognised by the respective regulatory bodies before submitting them to respective institutions for applications. The following bodies are responsible for validation and equating the certificates;
• The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) in respect of Certificates of Secondary Education Examinations, Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE), and Teacher Education
• The National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) in respect of Diploma/ NTA level 6 qualifications and National Vocational Award Level 3 (NVA); and
• The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) in respect of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from a foreign university.
• Applicants admitted to more than one institution shall be required to confirm their admissions to the most preferred programmes and institutions;
• Queries related to applications or admissions have to be lodged to the respective institutions to which the applicant has applied for admission; and

Admission Eligibility Requirements

•  Entry schemes and pathways into Bachelor’s degree programmes

Two major entry schemes to Bachelor’s degree programmes are recognised by the Commission:

• The direct entry qualifications, with the following pathways:

a) Holders of Form Six Qualifications; and

b) Holders of Foreign Secondary Education Certificates;

ii) The equivalent entry qualifications, with the following pathways:

a) Holders of Ordinary Diploma or Equivalent Qualifications;

b) Holders of Foundation Certificate granted by the Open University of Tanzania (OUT); and

c) Holders of a Bachelor’s degree award.
