Job Purpose
The Front Desk Agent delivers prompt, courteous, and personalized service to guests throughout their journey—from arrival to departure. This role is responsible for seamless check-in and check-out procedures, guest orientation, front desk cashiering, and maintaining the highest levels of guest satisfaction and privacy.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Guest Relations & Customer Service:
Personally greet guests by name, assist with check-in procedures, and escort guests to their rooms.
Provide comprehensive room and hotel orientation, answering queries regarding hotel facilities, operating hours, promotions, and local attractions.
Deliver personalized service to create memorable experiences and maintain high guest satisfaction scores.
Front Desk & Cashiering Operations:
Process guest check-ins, check-outs, and account settlements accurately using computerized Front Office systems.
Post incidental charges correctly and adhere strictly to hotel cashiering standards, financial controls, and procedures.
Maintain up-to-date awareness of daily room rates, promotions, packages, and hotel occupancy levels.
Compliance, Privacy & Standards:
Protect guest privacy by ensuring strict confidentiality of guest details and room information.
Uphold hotel policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and service standards at all times.
Candidate Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Education & Experience:
Educational Background: Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
Work Experience: Prior front office/reception experience within a reputable or star-rated hotel environment.
System Knowledge: Experience with PMS platforms like Opera is a strong advantage.
Languages & Communication:
Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
Proficiency in Swahili or additional international languages (e.g., French, Arabic) is an added advantage.
