Tanzania Public Service Jobs 2026: 6 Vacancies at OUT and Mzumbe University

The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS), on behalf of the Open University of Tanzania (OUT) and Mzumbe University (MU), has announced six job vacancies for qualified Tanzanian professionals. The announcement is dated 18 August 2026, with applications closing on 31 August 2026.

Job Vacancies at OUT and Mzumbe University

1. Instructor II – Special Education — 2 Posts

Employer: Open University of Tanzania (OUT)

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education in Sign Language or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Applicants must also be computer literate.

The role involves supporting student practicals and projects, research and development activities, maintenance of special-needs ICT facilities, and organizing student practical sessions.

Salary Scale: PUSS 4.1

2. Technician II – Air Conditioning and Refrigeration — 1 Post

Employer: Open University of Tanzania (OUT)

Applicants should have a Diploma (NTA Level 6) or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Marine and Refrigeration Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.

Key duties include inspecting cooling-system components, assisting with electrical repairs, replacing contaminated coolant, and supporting the maintenance of laboratory and workshop facilities.

Salary Scale: PGSS 5.1

3. ICT Officer II – Audio Visual — 2 Posts

Employer: Mzumbe University (MU)

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in fields such as:

  • Multimedia Technology and Animation
  • Multimedia Content Development
  • Instructional Design
  • Instructional Design and Information Technology
  • Equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution

The successful candidates will assist with audiovisual equipment, TV-centre operations, examination records, video-camera work, equipment setup and maintenance.

Salary Scale: PGSS 7.1

4. Launderer II — 1 Post

Employer: Mzumbe University (MU)

Applicants must have a National Form IV Certificate of Secondary Education together with a certificate in Hospitality Management or an equivalent field from a recognized institution.

Responsibilities include collecting and cleaning hospital bed sheets and nets, operating and maintaining laundry equipment, ironing clothing and reporting damaged laundry items.

Salary Scale: PMOSS 1.1

General Application Requirements

Applicants should note the following requirements:

  • Must be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania.
  • Must not be above 45 years of age, subject to the specific age limits stated for paramilitary institutions.

  • Professional registration and training certificates should be attached where applicable.
  • A birth certificate is required.
