Position Tittle: Office Secretary (1 Post)

Educational/Professional qualifications:-

Must have a Diploma in secretarial Service or equivalent from any recognized Learning Institution/colleges; A National Form IV/VI certificate and Computer literate is mandatory;

Work Experience:

Works Experience

At least 3 years cumulative experience related to Road/ Bridge works, Served as a Pavement/ Material technician or an equivalent Capacity. At least Three(3)years in road construction project of similar magnitude and complexity. Self-motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision. Fluent in Swahili and English. Must be Tanzanian Citizen. Age limit: 35 years and above.

Position Tittle: Assistant Surveyor (1 Post)

Educational/Professional qualifications: –

  • He/she must have a Diploma in Land Surveying or equivalent from any recognized Learning Institution/colleges.
  • He/she must have a National Form IV/VI certificate.
  • He/She must have at least two (2) years cumulative experience related to road/ Bridge Design and construction.
  • He/she must have served in a similar capacity on at least two (2) road projects for Upgrading to bituminous standard of similar magnitude and complexity in the last five (5) years.
  • Computer literate
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.

POSITION TITTLE: CAD Technician (1 POST)

Educational/Professional qualifications:-

  • He/she must have a certificate of CAD or equivalent from any recognized Learning Institution/colleges.

  • He/she must have at least Six (6) years cumulative experience related to road/ Bridge design and construction.
  • She/he must have served in a similar capacity on at least two (2) road projects for upgrading to bituminous standard of similar magnitude and complexity in the last six(6)years,

  • proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.

Position Tittle: Topographical Surveyor (1 Post)

The Topographical Surveyor shall be fully responsible for conducting and supervising the survey team. He/she will be responsible for planning of the fieldwork, select known survey reference points, and determine the precise location of important features in the survey area. He/she shall be responsible for searching legal records, look for evidence of previous references survey points (geodetic reference points and national benchmarks) and analyse the data to determine the location of boundary lines and record the results of the survey, verify the accuracy of data, and prepare plans, maps and reports.

She/he must possess a minimum of Advanced Diploma in Land Surveying. She/he must be a registered Land Surveyor. She/he must have six(6)years specific experience in road design and construction. She/he must have served in at least two (2) road construction projects in the Last 6 years. In addition, he/she must have a working experience of at least 3 years in Sub-Sahara countries. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory

Accountabilities

  • Should develop daily machine checklist and also ensure all machines have been inspected according to the checklist, do proper planning for all observed faults

  • Ensures that the Workshop’s expenditure controls are in place
  • Prepare and implement Machinery Maintenance Schedule for the all factory machinery and utilities
  • Maintain Inventory and asset register for the factory machinery
  • Initiate and Control Job request systems by ensure all works must have job request and also ensure proper machine history and documentation
  • Ensures that all relevant legal & other safety requirements (mechanical) are complied within the factory
  • Supports installation of new processes & machinery.
  • Takes charge of machinery modification and supports the implementation of WCM in the factory
  • Responsible for the implementation of all company policies and procedures in the Workshop
  • Takes charge of engineering requirement & maintenance of utility services.
  • Deliver the business targets aligned to the Company Strategy.
  • Liase with Engineering Services to execute Factory improvement and efficiency projects.
  • Support Engineering Services in Artisan training and CI programs for the factory.

Continuous Improvement Management

  • Should be OEE Champion for Respective factory by ensure all required data are captured and reported daily for discussion and proper recommendations on continuous improvement actions to improve OEE for the  Factory
  • Should be champion on tracking agreed KPIs to process Supervisors, Senior Artisans and Section team leads so as to improve Factories performance on Safety, Factory availability and Made tea quality
  • Support factory managers on Identifying and initiations of factory quick wins project and also keep tracking of those projects
  • Do coaching to supervisors and team leads to empower their skills

Assets and Stocks

  • Updates asset inventories records for the section.
  • Maintain Machinery Inventory for the factories
  • Prepares and avail machinery and equipment for statutory inspection and calibration for legal compliance and safety integrity.
  • Maintain and take responsibility for the workshop tools register.
  • Monitor and validate factory related stock (Spares) movements in conjunction with the store clerk and factory management.
  • Responsible for the utilization of assets in the factory.
  • Flag up redundant/obsolete assets to manager for disposal.
  • Ensure the day to day operation and smooth delivery of service machinery in the factory
  • Monitor machinery key performance indicators for efficient operation; generate periodic reports.

Projects

  • Carries out the implementation of WCM in the Factory
  • Carries out implementation of projects, in liaison with the line manager and engineering
  • Keep abreast with all new technology covering tea making, maintenance, and energy usage and make proposals for implementation where appropriate.
  • Participate in factory trials and implement actions.
  • Implementation and follow up on improvement ideas on the shop floor.

Finance, logistics and supplies

  • Requisitions and verifies quality of spares and materials ordered for factory as per technical specification.
  • Submits inputs into annual revenue & capital budgets.
  • Provides technical specifications for the procurement of all stock e.g. spare parts.
  • Carries out cost management in the factory workshop and ensures effective controls.
  • Provide input into the monthly accounts review and implements agreed actions.
  • Implement an effective procurement tracking system in the garage.

People

  • Track and report daily artisan productivity in the factory, and take necessary actions for low performers while should motivate high performers
  • To train & develop all staff and ensure good industrial relations in factory workshop
  • Plans, allocates, and supervises all activities for maintenance teams.
  • Train & develop all personnel in the Workshop and production operators on process equipment management and safe operating procedures.
  • Handles employee industrial relations and maintains discipline in the workshop in conjunction with the line manager.
  • Implements employee establishment in the workshop.
  • Implement agreed welfare programmes and attend planned meetings ensuring completion of agreed actions.
  • Responsible for the works team and ensures that agreed work plan targets and standards are implemented.
  • Provide input and participate in the modular training of factory employees.

Social and welfare

  • Implement all social welfare programmes including security, housing maintenance, recreation and general welfare amenities and schools in liaison with the unit manager.

Safety, Health, Environment, RA

  • Authorizes issues and closes permits to work certificates in line with company policies for tasks related to the garage.
  • Implements standard operating procedures and specific work instructions and proposes reviews.
  • Implement service equipment guarding to meet Unilever standards.
  • Coordinate implementation of safe operating procedures and specific work instructions and ensure compliance and collate proposals for reviews for the service equipment
  • Maintains the workshop personnel reward/disciplinary and safety data in liaison with the factory manager.
  • Should capture and prepare report on EPR for daily, weekly and monthly. Should work close with factory manager to ensure all actions to ensure targets on EPR are achieved by establishing proper strategies to control the parameters
  • Should work with factory managers and SHE Representatives to ensure proper risk assessment is done regularly and all observations/findings are captured and action plan developed and tracked for Factories

Job Description

Name of the Position: – Information Management Assistant-Community Based Protection

About Danish Refugee Council
Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an international non-governmental organization which provide assistance and promotes durable solutions for refugees and internally displaced people, on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights.
Danish Refugee Council is a humanitarian actor in Tanzania. Since 2015, as part of the Burundian Refugee Response in Tanzania, DRC works in the sectors of camp management, Community-Based Protection, livelihoods, protections, WASH, General Food Distributions and shelter/ small infrastructure in Nduta & Mtendeli camps. And starting from January, 2020, DRC is implementing Camp management, Community Based Protection and Livelihoods projects in Nyarugusu refugee camp. Since March, 2021, DRC is implementing an Energy and Environment Project in refugee hosting communities, Mtendeli, Nduta and Nyarugusu refugee camps.

Purpose of the position
A Community Based Protection Information Management Assistant, under the management and supervision of the community Based protection Information Management Officer and in close collaboration with UNHCR and the camp-based government coordination bodies will be responsible for assisting development of tools for data collection, assessments/surveys, data management. Also, will participate in implementation of community Based Protection activities in the refugee camp and host community. The Community Based Protection Information Management Assistant is therefore expected to be flexible to work in different locations over the course of the programme.

Tasks and responsibilities of the position
    Provide support in ensuring that targets are met under DRC’s agreement with donors, in order to be accountable to the stated goals of the programme.
    Providing technical inputs to the programme throughout project cycle in relation to Information Management.
    Participate in designing of various M & E tools in close cooperation with MEAL team.
       Design and Manage database for entering data collected by Protection Team during protection monitoring.
    Provide technical support and on-the-job coaching to Protection team in database design and use of software of data collection like KOBO toolbox/Open Data Kit (ODK) etc.
    Assist in data collection and analysis regarding the activities implemented mainly from needs assessments, baseline assessments, regular program monitoring (e.g. PDM), Mid-term evaluations, final evaluations and household surveys. This will be done in collaboration with the DRC’s MEAL Team.
    Support in ensuring comprehensive documentation and provide inputs for reporting on program implementation progress.
    Contribute in documentation of lessons learned and ensuring that are reflected in program planning and decision making.
    Provide inputs for program Development.
    Networking and representation at the field level.
    Ensure implementation of community-based protection activities are in compliant with the Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) and the DRC’s Code of Conduct (CoC).
    Provide timely and quality inputs for project narrative reports in accordance to donors’ requirement.
    Foster and maintain excellent working relationships with key humanitarian actors – local and international, including government authorities and private sectors.

Requirements
    University Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Science or related fields.
    1-2 years relevant work experience.
    Experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)
    Computer literacy (e.g. analytical software, internet, Microsoft Office).
    Previous experience with electronic or mobile data collection software like KOBO Toolbox/Open Data Kit (ODK).
    Knowledge and experience in data management (i.e. data processing, analysis, presentation and reporting).
    Knowledge and experience in data processing by using statistical software like SPSS, STATA, Power BI or Microsoft Excel.
    Ability to communicate in English and Swahili, knowledge of Kiha/Kirundi will be an added advantage.
    Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
    Comfortable in a multi–cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well ability to engage with community members in an open manner, maintain confidentiality and respect.
