The Tanzania Prisons Service (Jeshi la Magereza) has officially announced new job opportunities for young Tanzanians. This recruitment drive is open to candidates with education starting from Form Four (O-Level) up to Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree holders in various professional fields.

According to the statement released by the Commissioner General of Prisons, Jeremiah Katungu, on August 15, 2025, eligible candidates are required to submit their applications through the Tanzania Prisons Service Recruitment Management System (TPSRMS)

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be Tanzanian citizens.

• Age between 18 – 24 years for Form Four leavers.

• Age between 18 – 28 years for those with professional qualifications.

• Height requirements:

  • 5.4 ft (women)

  • 5.7 ft (men)

• Must be willing to attend basic prison training and work anywhere in Mainland Tanzania.
