Mbogwe District is among the 19 newly established Districts, this District was established on 9/05/2012 from the mother District of Bukombe in the new Geita Region and was announced in the Government Gazette and given GN 286.
The goal of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Hon. Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete to establish this District is to stimulate development and move administrative services closer to the people.
