About Serengeti Bytes: Serengeti Bytes is a dynamic communications agency dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories of change-makers, brands, and unsung heroes. The Changemakers Magazine and two others highlight inspiring stories, innovative ideas, and impactful initiatives across Tanzania.
Position Overview: We are seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented Content and Research Interns to join our team. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in researching, collecting, and publishing content for The Changemakers Magazine and the other two magazines. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about storytelling, journalism, and making a positive impact through media.
Key Responsibilities:
- – Research: Conduct thorough research on various topics, individuals, and organisations relevant to the themes of our magazines.
- – Content Creation: Write and edit articles, interviews, and feature stories that align with the editorial vision of each magazine.
- – Data Collection: Gather and verify information, statistics, and other data to support content development.
- – Editorial Assistance: Assist with fact-checking, proofreading, and ensuring the overall quality and accuracy of the content.
- – Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial team to brainstorm and develop new content ideas.
- – Social Media Support: Assist in creating engaging content for our social media platforms to promote our magazines and featured stories.
- – Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks to support the editorial team as needed.
Requirements:
- – Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Research, Statistics, Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
- – Skills: Excellent research, writing, and editing skills; strong attention to detail; familiarity with digital content creation tools.
- – Passion: A genuine interest in storytelling, social impact, and media.
- – Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using MS Office, Google Suite, and social media platforms.
- – Adaptability: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- – Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members.
