Ajira za walimu 2024: Government to hire 12,000 teachers of various subjects
Deputy Minister, Office of the President – TAMISEMI who deals with Education Hon. Zainab Katimba has said that in 2023/24, the government expects to hire 12,000 teachers of various subjects, including science, who will be assigned to work centers in areas with severe shortages, including Meatu District Council.
He said this today in Parliament in Dodoma during the question and answer session, while answering the question of Hon. Minza Simon Member of Parliament for special seats who asked, What is the strategy to increase science teachers in secondary schools in Meatu District.
Also Hon. Katimba has said that in the 12,000 teachers who are expected to be employed this year, priority will be given to the availability of female teachers in those schools.
“In addition to the fact that the government hires teachers, but another step taken by the government is to ensure that it balances to reduce the number of teachers in other schools and reduce them to areas where there is a large shortage of teachers,” said Hon. Katimba
