The Office of the Prime Minister, Labour, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disabilities is implementing a National Skills Development Programme aimed at enabling the National workforce to acquire relevant skills and knowledge to compete in the job market.
The Office has entered into agreements with 52 vocational training institutions that are registered with the relevant authorities to provide training in various fields including Fashion Design and Tailoring, Plumbing, Masonry, Carpentry, Welding and Metal Joining, Painting and Signage, Catering, Manufacturing of Mechanical Parts, Automotive and Mechanical Engineering, Domestic and Industrial Electrical, Automotive Electrical, Hotel and Tourism Services, Mining and Metalworking.
The Office would like to invite Tanzanian youth between the ages of 15 to 35 years who are interested in joining training in one of the fields listed below to come to the VETA Regional and District Colleges as well as the colleges listed below to collect an application form to join the training. The Government will fund the tuition fee at 100%.
The student/parent/guardian will cover other expenses including travel to and from the college. The training will commence on 03 March, 2025 and will be full-time. The applicant is advised to apply for this training at a college located in the Region where he/she resides.
The centers approved by the Government to provide the training and their fields are attached.
- Applications should be submitted from January 30, 2025 to February 12, 2025 accompanied by the following documents:
- A letter of application for training;
- A copy of Birth Certificate;
- A copy of Certificate of completed education;
- Citizenship ID / Voter ID (For those aged 18 and above);
- A letter of identification from the Local Government Office/Village where the applicant resides; and
- Four passport-sized photographs (with the applicant’s three names written on the back).
5. Qualifications for joining this training are:
- Basic education in the fields of fashion design and tailoring, plumbing, construction, carpentry, welding and metalworking, painting and sign writing;
- Form four education and above for other remaining fields including the field of manufacturing mechanical parts, automotive engineering, domestic and industrial electricity, automotive electricity and solar electricity;
- Be a Tanzanian; Be between the ages of 15 – 35; and
- Be in good health.
- Young People with Disabilities are encouraged to apply for these opportunities and will be given priority in these training positions;
- Applications should be taken and submitted to colleges in your region that have been approved by the Government to provide this training.
