🎓 Scholarship Overview

The Commonwealth Scholarships are designed to support outstanding students from least-developed and fragile Commonwealth countries, including Tanzania, who would not otherwise be able to study in the UK.

This is your chance to:

The scholarships cover:

  • Full tuition fees

  • Airfare to and from the UK

  • Monthly stipend

  • Master’s Degree (1 year full-time)

  • PhD Degree (3-4 years full-time)

Eligible candidates must select a program aligned with global development goals such as:

  • Access and inclusion for people with disabilities

🧾 Who Can Apply?

For Master’s Degree:

  • Hold a First Class or Upper Second-Class Honours Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

For PhD:

  • Possess a relevant Master’s degree with at least Upper Second-Class or Distinction.

For All Applicants:

  • Must be Tanzanian citizens or recognized refugees in a Commonwealth country

  • Must secure support from at least one UK-based supervisor or university

  • Must provide certified academic transcripts and certificates

  • Must submit a detailed study plan showing potential impact on Tanzanian development

  • Two academic recommendation letters required

  • PhD candidates must also submit a supporting statement from a UK institution

👉 Note: Applicants with qualifications from outside Tanzania must verify them with the relevant Tanzanian authorities.
