PPC Bursary 2022, PPC bursary application |PPC BURSARY SCHEME FOR SOUTH AFRICANS. PPC Established in South Africa in the 1892, PPC (Pretoria Portland Cement) is a leading supplier of cement with a growing footprint in Southern Africa. IN 1913 Portland Holding Ltd which trades as PPC Zimbabwe was established and it is the oldest and largest cement manufacture in the country. They supply quality cement to customers in Zimbabwe, as well as Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique. In 2016, PPC commissioned its fifth milling depot, located in Harare, Zimbabwe. The recent commissioning of PPC’s new plants in DRC and Ethiopia bring PPC’s capacity to around 11,5 million tonnes of cement products each year. As part of its strategy and long-term vision, PPC is expanding its operations in South Africa with the construction of a new kiln line (SK9) at PPC Slurry outside Mafikeng in the North-West province.
PPC Bursary. First launched in 2008, PPC‟s bursary scheme is an investment in both the company and country’s greater future. It has seen 30 students graduate during this time: a combination of those from its community programme started in 2008 and its “children of employees” programme which was initiated in 2015.

The scheme is aligned to meeting current and future skills requirements of the group and greater sector, with a strong focus on chemical, electrical, mechanical, mining and industrial engineering. Environmentally-oriented degrees are also being supported.
It is a full bursary that covers:
- Full Tuition;
- Accommodation;
- Meals;
Areas of study
Applicants can apply for a PPC Bursary if they intend to gain a qualification in one of the following fields of study:
Engineering:
- Chemical
- Electrical
- Mechanical
- Mining
- Industrial
- Environmentally-oriented degrees will also be considered.
PPC Bursary Requirements?
Applicants need to meet the following requirements:
- must be a South African citizen;
- must undertake full-time undergraduate studies in a South African tertiary institution;
- have a financial need; and
- written proof of acceptance to an accredited South African University if not already in university.

- ID document (certified copy)
- Photograph (passport size)
- Grade 11 final results (current Matric students)
- Matric certificate (if completed Matric)
- Proof of admission into a tertiary institution
- Full academic record to date (current tertiary students)
