About the Assistant Workshop Manager Position

The successful candidates will assist the Workshop Manager in coordinating daily workshop operations and ensuring that vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and repaired.

The role involves supervising workshop staff, monitoring servicing and repair activities, diagnosing mechanical problems, maintaining workshop records, and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Workshop Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the Workshop Manager in supervising and coordinating daily workshop activities.
• Planning and monitoring vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Supervising mechanics and other workshop staff.
• Ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and helping determine appropriate repair procedures.
• Ensuring vehicles and equipment are serviced according to scheduled maintenance plans.
• Monitoring the use of workshop tools, equipment, spare parts, and materials.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Preparing and maintaining maintenance and repair records.
• Monitoring the quality of repairs and ensuring they meet required standards.
• Assisting with workshop productivity and maintenance cost control.
• Performing other duties assigned by the Workshop Manager.

Assistant Workshop Manager Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• A Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and workshop operations.
• Experience working with heavy-duty trucks will be an added advantage.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
