Role Overview & Key Responsibilities
- The Facility Cleaner provides discreet, high-standard housekeeping and janitorial services across dnata lounges and administrative offices at Zanzibar Airport. The role ensures all passenger areas, furniture, restrooms, and operational spaces meet stringent cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation standards.
- Lounge & Office Cleaning: Spot clean, dust, vacuum, and shampoo furniture, tables, desks, signage, air vents, and upholstered seating using approved cleaning chemicals and methods.
- Floor Care & Restroom Maintenance: Vacuum carpeted areas, wet mop tiled floors, sanitize restroom vanities, toilets, and fixtures, and promptly replenish hygiene consumables (toilet paper, soap, towels).
- Waste Management & Stock Control: Empty waste bins, replace liners, safely dispose of trash at designated points, and report cleaning material stock shortages to the Hosting Lead.
- Spill Response & Chemical Safety: Handle all cleaning chemicals safely, store equipment securely away from guest sight lines, and coordinate with catering staff to manage floor spillages.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to occupational safety, health, and environmental policies, wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and report facility safety hazards immediately.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Certificate, Diploma, or relevant vocational/secondary training.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of cleaning or housekeeping experience, preferably in a hotel, corporate office, or airport environment.
- Language Skills: Good standard of spoken English (Mandatory requirement).
- Core Competencies: Basic understanding of chemical handling and sanitation, strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and a discrete, professional work ethic.
