About the Opportunity
The Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Japan is pleased to announce an exciting free online training opportunity in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) offered by The University of Tokyo through its Matsuo-Iwasawa Laboratory.
The program is designed for students ranging from secondary school level to doctoral studies and will introduce participants to important modern technology skills, including Python programming, Machine Learning, data processing and visualization, SQL, and the application of Data Science in business.
Qualified participants will be able to take part in the training free of charge.
Training Duration
The training will run for approximately three months:
17 September – 17 December 2026
Courses and Topics Covered
Participants will learn about a range of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence topics, including:
- Data Science
- Python programming
- Machine Learning
- Data processing and analysis
- Data visualization
- SQL
- Applications of Data Science in business
Participants who successfully fulfill the program requirements will receive a certificate of completion.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a student from secondary school through PhD level.
- Be enrolled at a recognized educational institution.
- Be a student at the time the program begins.
- Have the ability to learn independently.
- Be willing to actively participate in the program and complete all required training activities.
How to Apply
Applicants should follow these steps:
Step 1: Register your educational institution email address
Register using the email address provided by your educational institution. If you do not have an institutional email address or the system does not accept it, use the designated option for applicants without an institutional email.
Step 2: Create an OmniCampus ID
Create an OmniCampus ID using your personal Gmail address and submit your Student ID or another official document confirming your enrollment at an educational institution.
Step 3: Wait for verification
After your registration has been reviewed and approved, you will receive information and credentials for accessing the OmniCampus system.
Step 4: Complete the application
Log in to the OmniCampus system, select “GCI World 2026 September”, and complete the application process.
