The National Insurance Corporation (NIC) has announced 21 volunteer vacancies for dynamic, proactive, motivated and suitably qualified Tanzanians.
The volunteer programme is designed to provide young Tanzanians with an opportunity to gain practical skills and valuable work experience in the insurance, finance, information technology, planning, legal, records management and graphic design fields.
About National Insurance Corporation (NIC)
The National Insurance Corporation (NIC) is a leading insurance company in Tanzania, established under the Companies Ordinance Act, CAP 212, to conduct insurance business in various forms, including re-insurance and co-insurance.
NIC is inviting qualified Tanzanians to apply for the available volunteer positions.
Available NIC Volunteer Vacancies 2026
A total of 21 volunteer positions are available across seven job categories.
1. Insurance Officer II – 5 Posts
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:
- Insurance
- Actuarial Science
- Social Protection
- Risk Management
- Equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions
Applicants should also have knowledge of insurance products.
2. Records Management Assistant II – 4 Posts
Work Stations: HQ – 2 Posts and Tabata – 2 Posts
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Diploma in one of the following areas:
- Records Management
- Archives
- Archive and Documentation
- Records and Information Management
- Equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions
3. ICT Officer II – 1 Post
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in one of the following fields:
- Computer Science
- Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Information Technology
- Database Administration
- Computer Systems Analysis
- Computer System Security
- Network Administration
- Web and Multimedia Administration
- Computer Applications
- Computer Programming
- Equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution
4. Planning Officer II – 2 Posts
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:
- Economics
- Project Planning and Management
- Economic Planning
- Equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions
Additional requirement: Applicants must be computer literate.
5. Accounts Officer II – 2 Posts
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas:
- Accountancy
- Finance
- Commerce
- Business Administration, majoring in Accounting or Finance
- Equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions
An Intermediate Certificate (Module D) offered by NBAA is also accepted.
6. Legal Officer II – 1 Post
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution.
Applicants must also have attended and passed Internship or Law School of Tanzania.
7. Technician – Graphic Designer II – 1 Post
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Diploma in one of the following fields:
- Information and Communication Technology
- Science
- Graphic Design
- Multimedia Production
- Mass Communication
General Conditions
Applicants should carefully note the following general requirements:
- Must be Tanzanian citizens.
- Must be aged not below 18 and not above 35 years.
- Must have never been employed in any Public Institution.
- The volunteer period shall not exceed 12 months and may be renewed for a maximum of two additional periods.
- Applicants must never have been convicted by a court of law for criminal offences or disciplinary misconduct.
- Applicants must have good conduct and behaviour acceptable to the community.
- Applicants must not have been employed in any Public Institution since graduating from their studies.

Applicants are required to prepare the following:
- Application letter addressed to the Managing Director – NIC, clearly stating the position being applied for.
- Up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Reliable contact details, including postal address/post code, email address and telephone number.
- Certified copies of academic certificates.
- Three reputable referees with their reliable contact details.
Documents Not Accepted
The advertisement specifically states that applicants should not attach copies of:
- Form IV or Form VI results slips.
- Testimonials and partial transcripts.
- National ID, Voters Registration ID or Driving Licence.
- Introduction letters from Local Government.
