ICT officer (application Programmer/Mobile Applications) Jobs at Dar es Salaam Rapid Transport (DART) – 1 Post
On behalf of Dar es Salaam Rapid Transport (DART), Treasury Registrar Office and Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development, Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) invites dynamic and suitable qualified Tanzanians to fill vacant post mentioned below;
ICT OFFICER II (APPLICATION PROGRAMMER/MOBILE APPLICATIONS) –1 POST
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To accomplish Software Application Development Full Lifecycle:-
i. To design, code, and debugg mobile based applications based on various deployment platforms (e.g., USSD, SMS, Android, IOS etc.), operating systems, programming languages, database management systems, software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk
analysis, software reliability analysis, etc;
ii. To provide Administration, Operation and Maintenance support of Dar City Navigator Mobile Application and other mobile Applications in DART System;
iii. To assist and participate in analysis of user requirements, prototyping, development of new functionalities, maintenance of applications, integration of technological components, testing, deployment;
iv. To design, code and debugg SMS, USSD and mobile based applications in various software languages,
v. To support, maintain and document software functionality;
vi. To install and configure appropriate application servers based on the application programs to be supported;
vii. To support, maintain, and prepare technical and user documentations for various software functionalities;
viii. To undertake software testing and quality assurance; ix. To perform tuning, improvement, load balancing, usability, automation and
x. To produce detailed technical specifications and software code documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Engineering in one of the following fields; Information Technology, Information System, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
• Practical knowledge and experience of at least three (3) years in developing large systems will be an added advantage.
• Working knowledge of various software languages [PHP (mandatory), Java (mandatory), C/C++, .NET, Python], Strong knowledge on PostgreSQL and MySQL Database Management Systems; Knowledge on MS SQL Server, Oracle and other DBMS, Practical knowledge in designing and development of chat BOTs
and Payment Systems, Conversance with PCI/DSS requirement in software development, practical knowledge and skills relevant to the position, and possession of relevant recognized Software developer professional certification will be added advantage.
OTHER SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
i. Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies;
ii. Experience in design and development of SMS/ USSD/iOS and Android based Applications;
iii. Experience in installation and administration of SMS, USSD and IVR Platforms;
iv. Technical knowledge in determining end-to-end software requirements specification and design;
v. Practical skills on Object Oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD);
vi. Knowledge in approaches containerization and micro services application development;
vii. Working knowledge ofLinux and Unix Server platforms;
viii. Experience in SOAP/REST/Web Services, Application Servers (Apache, Apache Tomcat, WebLogic etc;
ix. Experience in Spring Framework (Spring MVC) and other similar application development frameworks;
x. Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Git, Junit;
xi. Experience/knowledge on JSON, XML, JWTZ and other similar data exchange protocols;
xii. Familiarity with software code versioning and repository systems; and
xiii. Ability to work both front end and back end for developing APIs.
SALARY SCALE: As per DART salary scale
