Success statistics show Yanga is the leading team to win the Tanzanian title more often than all 16 teams participating in this season’s League where it has won the title 27 times with rival Simba doing it 22 times, with Mtibwa Sugar and Coastal Union clubs of Tanga following.

Simba Sports Club is a football team headquartered in Msimbazi, Kariakoo, Dar es Salaam in Tanzania participating in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League where it was founded in 1936, first named Eagles and later renamed Dar Sunderland. In the Community Shield Yanga beat Azam FC by a total of 8 goals to 7, almost three times for Azam FC to meet Yanga in the Community Shield and Yanga to beat Azam in all three matches.
