Tanzania has received Sh1.2 trillion loan form World Bank. Tanzania has received a Sh1.2 trillion concessional loan that will open the door to improve security, climate resilience, capacity of local roads and regional airports.
A statement issued by the World Bank’s International Development Agency (IDA) today, May 27, said the loan would enable Tanzania to achieve those areas under the Tanzania Transport Partnership Project (TanTIP) which will also enable relevant institutions to plan and manage the sector.
It said the funding would help improve and rehabilitate 500 km of roads, including Mtwara-Mingoyo-Masasi (201 km), Lusahunga-Rusumo (92 km), Songea-Rutukila (111 km) and Iringa-Msembe (104 km). , while addressing the climate to increase road endurance.
