DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Designing livestock production plans in the district.
ii. Coordinating livestock production in small and large livestock farms.
iii. To help coordinate extension plans related to livestock production in the district.
iv. Coordinating and conducting training in quality breeding, processing of livestock products for livestock experts and breeders
v. To review and revise the infrastructure of livestock markets in the district and region.
vi. To design, establish and implement livestock development projects in the district.
vii. Doing a resource survey (resource survey) e.g. livestock, animal feed, fodder etc. in his workplace.
viii. To conduct training for agents, sellers and experts on safe ways in keeping and distributing livestock inputs.
ix. To research new areas suitable for raising various livestock.
x. Making an assessment on the damage to the environment caused by breeding in the district.
xi. Participating in activities to control outbreaks of animals/pests.
xii. Monitor, keep, analyze and interpret livestock production statistics.
xiii. To prepare general information on the development of livestock and
xiv. To do other work related to his profession as directed by his superior.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Employment with a degree in Animal Science (Animal Science) or Agricultural Science specializing in Animal Science from Sokoine Agricultural University or from another university recognized by the Government.
