Job vacancies at Tanzania Postal Corporation (TPC) . The Tanzania Post Agency was established by Act of Parliament No. 19 of 1993 (Tanzania Posts Corporation Act. 1993) after the amendment of the former Tanzania Post and Telephone Corporation (TP&TC). In these changes, three institutions were created, namely the Tanzania Communications Commission (TCC), currently the Tanzania Communications Authority (TCRA), the Tanzania Postal Corporation (TPC) and the Tanzania Telephone Company (TTCL), now the Tanzania Communications Corporation. The changes were aimed at bringing improvements in the Telecommunications Sector so that the sector would be a catalyst for the development of the Nation.

The Postal Corporation officially began work on January 1, 1994. The Corporation is 100 percent owned by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania. In addition, the Corporation is under the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the African Postal Union (PAPU), the Southern Postal Union of Africa (SAPOA) and the East African Communications Institute (EACO).

Postal Services as an institution was established in the country by the German colonial Government which jointly ruled the countries of Tanganyika, Rwanda and Burundi.

The Postal Headquarters for all these countries are located in the Sokoine Post Office building (Old Post Office) in Dar es Salaam. The first stamped mail service was established here in the country in 1893. The letters were sent using postmen who walked long distances from the District Headquarters to the States. The train service between Dar es Salaam to Kigoma and later to Mwanza and Arusha improved the network of Postal services in the country.
