🏦 Basic Purpose of the Role

The Quality Assurance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and service quality across all branches. The role focuses on strengthening internal controls, improving portfolio quality, supporting credit management, and upholding customer experience standards — driving Equity Bank’s vision of excellence in banking services.

 Key Responsibilities

A. Operational Compliance & Risk Oversight

  • Conduct reviews to ensure adherence to bank policies, AML/KYC, and BOT guidelines.

  • Perform branch control checks including vault, cash, and KYC documentation.

  • Validate operational reports and monitor exceptions or policy breaches.

  • Ensure proper record management and data integrity across systems.

B. Audit & Compliance Assurance

  • Follow up on internal and external audit findings to ensure timely closure.

  • Conduct risk-based thematic reviews and prevent repeat compliance issues.

C. Credit Documentation & Portfolio Oversight

  • Review credit files for completeness and accuracy.

  • Verify collateral and insurance documentation.

  • Monitor early delinquency trends and advise on remedial actions.

D. Customer Experience Governance

  • Track customer complaints, service metrics, and Net Promoter Scores (NPS).

  • Recommend service recovery and improvement strategies.

E. Reporting & Performance Management

  • Prepare monthly Quality Assurance Reports covering compliance, service quality, and risk trends.

  • Coordinate performance improvement plans across branches.

🎓 Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3–7 years in banking operations, risk, audit, or quality assurance.

  • Proven track record in process improvement, internal audit, or QA assessments.

  • Supervisory or team leadership experience is an added advantage.

 Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of banking operations, risk management, and compliance frameworks.

  • Familiarity with AML/CFT regulations, KYC standards, and BOT/CBK guidelines.

  • Knowledge of ISO, Six Sigma, or TQM frameworks.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to influence teams and drive quality improvements under pressure.

Regulatory Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of banking laws and risk management policies.

  • Knowledge of credit, AML, and KYC regulations.
