Job Purpose
The NOC Infrastructure Specialist will proactively monitor infrastructure and services, conduct Level 2 troubleshooting, and escalate incidents and problems raised within the Network Operations Center (NOC) that may degrade or have the potential to degrade banking services.
The role is responsible for supporting reliable service delivery and ensuring that services continue to meet and exceed business customer expectations while maintaining the value and availability of banking services.
Main Responsibilities
- Work with the Development Team to understand new products and systems and ensure appropriate support is provided throughout the transition period.
- Provide second-level support for all DSS and onboarding services.
- Work with the Development Team to understand new products and systems and ensure the appropriate support is provided.
- Support and resolve common and basic issues faced by customers.
- Perform and coordinate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of incidents and prepare and share RCA and incident reports.
- Conduct daily proactive monitoring, first-level troubleshooting, resolution and escalation of issues relating to:
- Data Centre and Disaster Recovery (DR) infrastructure.
- Core banking services.
- Core network.
- Branch connectivity.
- ATM/POS services.
- Self-service channels.
- Power and cooling utilities at Head Office and branches.
- Manage all incidents and problems logged regarding self-service channels.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance statistics covering service performance and data centre infrastructure.
- Prepare status reports and graphical presentations for management.
- Automate and consolidate manual morning health-check reports.
- Provide second-level support for all self-service channels and services, ensuring proper escalation to third-level support where required.

Knowledge and Skills
Candidates should demonstrate knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- Service management standards and baselines covering operating systems, networks, virtual environments, databases and middleware.
- Good knowledge of networks, applications, data centre infrastructure, self-service channels, power and cooling utilities monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience developing with at least two of the following programming languages will be an added advantage:
- C#/.NET
- PHP
- Java
- Objective-C/Swift
- Experience with web application technologies, including:
- CSS3
- HTML5
- jQuery/JavaScript
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Creativity and innovation.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work overnight.
- Good observation and analytical skills.
- Flexibility to work on a shift rotation basis.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with various databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks.
- Knowledge of programming and shell scripting, including Java, Python and Bash scripting.
- Knowledge of Linux and terminal commands.
- DevOps skills.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related academic field.
- ITIL qualification is preferable but not essential.
Professional Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience handling monitoring tools, including Micro Focus, within large corporate organisations.
- At least 3 years’ experience in systems and network security technologies, including:
- TCP/IP.
- Network devices such as switches, routers and firewalls.
- UNIX/Linux.
- Windows.
- Oracle databases.
- Microsoft databases.
Technical Tools
Experience with the following tools is required:
- GIT.
- NetBeans IDE/Eclipse.
- Visual Studio.
- Android Studio.
