USIU-Africa EAC Scholarship Programme 2026: Fully Funded Master’s Scholarships in Kenya
The Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) hereby invites suitably qualified nationals of the East African Community (EAC) to apply for Cohort 4 of the KfW-funded Scholarships to pursue Master’s studies at United States International University – Africa (USIU-Africa) in Kenya, under the EAC Scholarship Programme. This call is specific to the three eligible Master’s programmes offered by USIU-Africa.
Applications must be submitted in English. Female applicants, persons with disabilities and applicants from other disadvantaged backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
Overview
The scholarship package includes:
- One return economy-class air ticket between the scholar’s home country and Kenya upon commencement and completion of studies.
- Full tuition fees payable directly to USIU-Africa.
- Arrival allowance of EUR 200 upon arrival in Kenya and opening a bank account (where feasible, a EUR-denominated account is encouraged to reduce currency conversion losses).
- A monthly stipend of EUR 380 to cover accommodation, meals, local transport and other living expenses.
- A lump-sum allowance of EUR 650 for study materials.
- A one-time EUR 1,500 study and research allowance.
- Medical insurance coverage for the duration of the scholarship.
- Visa/entry fee, where payment of an entry pass into Kenya or a student pass is required.
- Participation in at least one extracurricular event.
Eligible Programs
Applicants under this call must apply for admission to one of the following three approved Master’s programmes offered by USIU-Africa:
- Master of Arts in Communication Studies – Program requirements
- MSc Information Systems & Technology – Program requirements
- MSc Management & Organizational Development – Program requirements

Scholarship Eligibility
Applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of an EAC Partner State other than Kenya (Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, United Republic of Tanzania or Uganda);
- Be below 35 years of age at the time of application;
- Apply to study in Kenya, an EAC Partner State other than their country of citizenship;
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division, Distinction or equivalent qualification (see programme specific requirements);
- Have applied for admission to one of the three eligible Master’s programmes at USIU-Africa;
- Submit a complete scholarship application within the stipulated application period.
