The President of the United Republic of Tanzania Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has approved the hiring of 21,200 teaching and health cadres. The number of Employees who will be employed in the Teaching Cadres is 13,130 who will teach in Primary and Secondary schools. In addition, the number of employees who will be employed in Health cadres is 8,070 who will work in Halmashauro Hospitals, Health Centers and Dispensaries.

Due to the large number of students who joined Form one for academic year 2023/204, the Government will have to hire a large number of teachers to deal with this large number of students in secondary schools in the country.

According to TAMISEMI, a total of 1,073,941 students who passed the primary education exam in 2022 including 514,846 boys and 559,095 girls have been selected to join the first form in 2023

The number of students who successfully joined form one in January, 2023 has increased by 166, 139 students equal to an increase of 18.30 percent compared to 907, 802 students who got a mark to join the first form in 2022.

Among those who passed and were assigned to join form one, there are 2,775 students with special needs equal to 0.26 percent, of which 1,491 are boys and 1,284 are girls.
