At the beginning of the academic year, each student will be required to produce evidence of sponsorship by the Government or any other organizations. Students under Government Loan Board are expected to pay their portion of the fees not covered by the Loan Board (based on mean test grade) at the beginning of the semester before they can be permitted to use the University facilities.

All College bursaries are paid through Government Electronic Payment Gateway (GEPG) using the specific control numbers generated through the student’s ARIS account. The generated control number is for tuition fees and direct university costs only. Students are required to keep their original pay-in slips for further verifications in case required.

General Minimum Entry Requirements

A candidate shall be deemed eligible for consideration for admission into a first-degree programme of the MUCE if he/she has one of the following qualifications:
(a) Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E.) or equivalent, with passes in FIVE approved subjects THREE of which must be at credit level, obtained prior to sitting for the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (A.C.S.E.E.) or equivalent.
AND
(b) (i) For all Applicants except graduates of 2014 and 2015:
Two Principal Level Passes in appropriate subjects in the A.C.S.E.E. or equivalent with total points from three subjects not below 5 for Arts programmes and 4 for Science-based programmes based on the following grade to point conversion scale:
A = 5; B = 4; C = 3; D = 2; E = 1; S = 0.5 and F = 0 point
The minimum Principal in this case is an ‘E’ grade.
(ii) For graduates of 2014 and 2015:
Two Principal Level Passes in appropriate subjects in the A.C.S.E.E. or equivalent with total points from three subjects not below 5 (for Arts programmes) and 4 (for Science-based programmes) based on the following grade to point conversion scale:
A = 5; B+ = 4; B = 3; C = 2; D = 1; E = 0.5 and F = 0 point.
The Minimum Principal in this case is a ‘C’ grade
[Note: Principal Level Passes in Divinity/Islamic Knowledge are not counted]
OR
(c) An appropriate equivalent Diploma with a GPA not less than 3.0 for Ordinary Diplomas or B average for Teacher Education and Health Related diplomas or Distinction for unclassified awards or C grade for Full Technician Certificates or Upper Second Class for non-NTA diplomas obtained from a college which is fully registered by NACTE and approved by the UDSM Senate.

The Tanzania Universities Commission (TCU) would like to inform the public, Higher Education Institutions and all Higher Education Stakeholders inside and outside the country that the window for admission applications for Bachelor’s degree applicants for the academic year 2023/2024 has officially opened starting today 15/7/2023. This window will be open until 4/8/2023.

Groups of Applicants for Admission

Applications for admission to the Bachelor’s degree cover three groups of applicants:

With the qualifications of the Sixth Form;
Those with the qualifications of a Diploma (Ordinary Diploma), or similar qualifications;
and
Those with the qualifications of the Foundation Certificate of the College Open University of Tanzania.
In order to understand the eligibility criteria for the three groups mentioned above, the colleges and programs allowed to be admitted, applicants are directed to read the criteria shown in the Admission application guidebooks provided by TCU (Undergraduate Admission Guidebooks for 2023/2024) available on the TCU website www.tcu .go.tz.
Admission Application Procedure
Applications should be sent directly to the colleges that the applicant has chosen and choose the study programs he likes.
Specific instructions on how to apply are provided by the respective colleges.

Important Issues for Applicants to Consider

Read the admission guide provided by TCU carefully and understand it before starting to apply for admission
Entering college websites to find out the application procedures;
Sending applications directly to colleges through the electronic systems set up by the respective colleges;
Communicate with colleges directly and get detailed information about study programs to satisfy yourself before applying; and
Applicants with certificates issued by examination boards abroad must submit their certificates to the Tanzania Examination Council (NECTA) for Secondary Education certificates or the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) for certificates of Diplomas to obtain confirmation of the compatibility of their qualifications before applying for admission.
The commission encourages all applicants for admission to continue to get correct information through the TCU website www.tcu.go.tz, the websites of colleges allowed to admit undergraduate students, as well as various information provided by TCU through the media.

NOTE

The commission calls on all Bachelor’s degree applicants, if they need clarification on any issue related to admission, to contact the relevant colleges directly. In addition, if they need general information they can contact TCU by email es@tcu.go.tz.
Also, TCU urges citizens to avoid being scammed by people who call themselves agents or consultants who claim to provide services on how to join higher education institutions in this country.

NACTVET Dirisha la kuomba vyuo 2023/2024

Maombi ya vyuo vya afya vya serikali, The National Council for Vocational Education and Vocational Training (NACTVET) wishes to inform the public that the Admission of students for Diploma and Diploma Level for all courses/programs offered by various Colleges has been officially opened from May 21 to June 30, 2023 in the first phase.

All graduates of Secondary Education and Colleges who have the qualifications to join Diploma and Diploma courses, are advised to make their applications seriously in order to get a chance to join the courses/programs they like and which meet the criteria/qualifications to join them for the academic year 2023/2024 . Applications to join various courses/programs should be sent directly to the respective colleges.

In addition, Applicants for Health and Allied Sciences programs – Tanzania Mainland, should submit their applications through the Central Admission System (CAS) at the Council’s website (www.nacte.go.tz).

The Council also advises applicants, parents and guardians to ensure that they apply to Colleges that are listed in the Admission Guidebook for the 2023/2024 Academic Year (Admission Guidebook for 2023/2024 Academic Year). The guide is available on the Council’s website (www.nacte.go.tz).

The Council advises all applicants to write their correct information and keep the information they will receive from the Council without giving it to anyone in order to avoid inconvenience in the entire exercise of their application to join various colleges/programs.

How to apply | Maombi ya kujiunga na vyuo 2023/2024

Maombi ya vyuo vya afya 2023/2024, The Application is done via NACTE online application (For health colleges) or through respective colleges. The NACTE online application System allows you to apply for Admission into Certificate and Diploma programmes for academic year 2023/2024.

In due course of application, you must have a VALID working email address; and mobile phone number.
Kindly select your most preferred Programme according to your qualifications.
You can select up to 12 institutions/programmes.
The Application Fees is Tshs.10,000/= per institution and maximum of Tshs.30,000/= for the rest of the choices (Non-refundable).
You will be issued a Control Number for the payment of the Application Fees.
The payment can be made through Mobile Money services or Bank.
