Call for Sensa Training at Tandaimba District Council. Tandahimba District is one of the Five Districts that make up Mtwara Region. This district was officially established in 1995. Tandahimba District is located in Southern Tanzania. This district is bordered by Mtwara District on the East, West is bordered by Newala district, North is bordered by Lindi Region and South is bordered by Ruvuma River which is the official border with Mozambique.
The capital of this district is called TANDAHIMBA which is located 95 kilometers from the headquarters of Mtwara region. The district has an area of 1673 square kilometers equal to 167,331 hectares.
The area suitable for agriculture is 157,304 hectares equal to 94 percent of the entire area of the district, the area with trees is 63,216.8 hectares which is equal to 38 percent of the entire area of the district. Reserve forests including the Makonde Mountains reserve are 25,218 hectares equal to 15 percent of the entire area of the district.
Tandahimba District has 7 Divisions, 32 Wards, 143 registered villages and 654 townships. The district has 1 Constituency, it has two small towns, Tandahimba and Mahuta
