Late Applications for Grade 1 and Grade 8 for the 2023 academic year is opening on Tuesday 20 December 2022 and closing on Tuesday, 31 January 2023 at 00:01am
Only schools with available space are open for Late Applications. Parents will be able to apply online and immediately upload documents online. Documents not uploaded may be hand delivered to schools from 11 – 31 January 2023. Note that each parent may apply to ONE school only. The learner will be automatically placed at the one school applied to.
How do I complete an application?
Log on to www.gdeadmissions.gov.za and click on create a username and password and then Register your details. The System will guide you through each one of the 5 steps to make an application. Please keep the username and password for future use.
If You have started to register the details, but you cannot go beyond the section of your ID follow the steps below
- Refresh the page.
- Make sure that you have entered your ID Number correctly.
- Your ID number is validated by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA)
- After DHA verification of your ID Number, the System will provide all the vowels in your name and surname, and you need to add the missing consonants to complete your name and surname.
- After adding the consonants, click OK / Submit to continue with your application.
Where can I go to apply to Grade 1 or Grade 8 if I do not have a computer or internet at home?
There is no age limit to apply to Grade 8 for all learners who are currently in Grade 7 in a public schoolHowever, over-aged learners (15 years and older) may be redirected for admission to the relevant institution
