EWURA Bei ya mafuta ya Petrol May 2024. The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) hereby publishes Cap Prices for petroleum products, applicable in Tanzania Mainland effective from Wednesday, 1 st May 2024 at 12:01 am. In May 2024, retail and wholesale prices of petroleum products in Dar es Salaam, Tanga, and Mtwara are as depicted in Tables 1 and 2, respectively.
Pump prices of petroleum products for various towns, districts, and regions are provided in Table 3. Changes in the prices of petroleum products in May 2024 are attributed to a rise in world oil prices (FOB) by an average of 3.90% for petrol, a decrease of FOB by an average of 1.31% for diesel; a decrease in premiums for the importation of petroleum products by an average of 7.21% for petrol and 2.15% for diesel for Dar es Salaam Port, a decreased by 10.14% for petrol and 23.18% for diesel for Tanga Port, and a decreased by an average of 5.32% for both petrol and diesel for Mtwara Port. Moreover, the changes in petroleum prices are attributed to the change in exchange rate and a continuous use of EURO for the payment of imported petroleum products. Retailers are required to sell petroleum products at prices indicated in Table 3 while Wholesalers are required to sell petroleum products at prices indicated in Table 2. Legal action will be taken against any retailer or wholesaler who fails to comply with these instructions.
